Second Team Away Match v Lincolnshire
The Second Team away match against Lincolnshsire was played at Thonock Park G.C, Gainsborough on Tuesday 19th August and resulted in a 6-3 away win! What a fantastic result!
The team were Emma Anderson, Caron Harrison, Amelia Hothersall, Hayley Laverty, Ellen Sanderson, Ellie Wang and Sue West.
In the foursomes Emma & Amelia won 2&1 and Ellie & Sue won on the 18th, 1up. Unfortunately Caron & Ellen lost, their opponents got their own back after losing to them at Oakmere. We were therefore leading 2-1 after the morning session.
10 year old Ellie had played Monday at Burton in the Junior MNR Finals so Hayley replaced her in the singles and gained a fantastic half. Amelia also got a half and both Sue & Emma won on the 18th and Ellen on the 17th. Everybody gave 100% on a difficult course and a 5 hour round.
We now have to wait for the results between Lincolnshire & Leicestershire to see if we progress to the finals. We need Lincoln to win one of the matches. Many thanks to Susie for all her support, she has a great squad for 2026.
