Junior and Intermediate Championships

Beeston Fields Golf Club, Sunday 4th May

Intermediate Championship

A bitterly cold wind greeted the players at Beeston a dramatic change from the balmy temperatures of the previous days, but the players dragged out the hats, gloves and winter layers to brave the elements.  First out the Intermediates, this was the first time the new age group of Intermediate players 19 – 49 took to the field and it was great to see 9 players competing for the trophy.  Congratulations to Lauren Spray for winning the Betty Jackson Salver and becoming the Notts Intermediate Scratch Champion for 2025, with Jorja Newbold the runner-up.  The Nett Champion was Amelia Hogg and runner-up Emma Horsnall.  All players agreed it was a tough round of golf in the conditions, well done to all who took part.

Junior Championship

11 players competed in the U18 Championship, with some fantastic rounds of golf.  Millie Marsh became the U18 Notts Champion with a gross 72, with the runner-up being Maddison Clarke.  In the nett competition Sofia Evison won with a fantastic nett 67, coming in with her first ever round under 100… what a time to do it!  Sofia also won the Bronze scratch Salver and the U18 handicap cup.  Millie Marsh came 2nd in the nett competition and was also the U16 scratch champion.  Ellie Wang played in her first championships and won the U14 Scratch Trophy.

Millie and Sofia were our Justin Rose Junior Telegraph winners, Millie is our England Golf Junior Champion and will go on to represent the county at the final and Millie and Ellie have qualified for the MGU Champion of Champions in their age groups.  We wish them luck in their future rounds.

9 Hole Championship

Emily Wood continued her form as the 9-hole champion, winning on countback to runner up Lois Evison, both players getting 21 points, with Jessica Tombs in 3rd place.

Well done to everyone who took part, we look forward to another successful event next year and a big thank you to Beeston Fields for hosting the event.
