Well done to Keeley Sweeney & Lauren Greasly (both Coxmoor) who won the Carr Handicap Trophy at Ruddington Grange on 20th June. In a field of 36 couples, their nett score of 62 in the fourball better ball competition was one shot clear of 2nd place! Well done girls!

Lianna Bailey defies the cold & wind to become the NCLGA Junior Girls Champion

Despite the cold and the wind the Junior Girls Championship at Notts GC proved an extremely successful day with most of the prize winners playing below their handicaps

Lianna Bailey, Kirsty Condon & Keeley SweeneyThe Ros Simpson winner and Girls Champion for 2010 is Lianna Bailey from Notts Ladies GC whose gross score of 74 (one under par) is one of the best scores recorded in this competition

The Bridgett Patrick handicap cup was won by Keeley Sweeney from Coxmoor who pipped Eliza Davidson of Wollaton on the back 9 with a nett 65. The Marjorie Pretty Bronze Salver also went to Keeley with a gross 97

The open intermediate salver was won by Kirsty Condon from Blankney with a gross 81

All the officials and spectators were most impressed with everyone's conduct both on & off the course. Well done to all who played

Scottish Girls Championship

Well done to all four girls who played in the Scottish Girls Open Stroke Play Championship at Strathmore Golf Centre on 8th - 9th April.

Everyone Reduced their handicaps and exceeded all expectations. The Nottinghamshire girls who played were Lianna Bailey, Annabel Bailey, Emily Mae Hall and Rhiannon Linacre

Notts girls secure excellent half against Leicestershire

Notts Team Vs LeicsIn a contrast to the Mapperley friendly match, the first league match was played in glorious sunshine at Belton Park, Lincs.

Despite being 7 lower handicap players missing, the team knuckled down and secured a halved result, This was an excellent result as Notts were far less experienced regarding handicaps and had to play off scratch.

Notts were represented in the scratch match by Emily Cheshire, Jodie Peacock, Rachel Boulton, Emily Lyle, Elizabeth Barks and Amy Oxbury. Wins were secured by Emily C, Jodie & Elizabeth

Well done to everyone who played!

Second team match Vs Leics

At the same time as the scratch match, the second team also played Leicestershire. This is a new venture this year and teams consist of 3 players. Each match is off handicap

Notts were represented by Laura Morris, Emily Jane Golder and Keeley Sweeney. Well done girls winning 2-1. This is the first time all 3 have represented Notts

Friendly match against Mapperley Ladies

Juniors Vs MapperleyA huge thank you to Mapperley Ladies for hosting what has become a most enjoyable annual fixture

It is really important that this match offers the higher handicap girls to play in a matchplay format with ladies and more experienced girls.

It was a bitterly cold day but all the girls enjoyed themselves and really appreciated the encouragement from the ladies.

Well done to Lianna, Annabel & Jessica Bailey, Jodie Peacock, Emily Lyle, Sarah Riddell, Amy Oxbury & Beth Barks

Junior Presentation Evening

Junior presentationOn Saturday 6th February, 19 girls, their families, County Officials and golf professionals met at Sherwood Forest Golf Club to celebrate the achievements of the junior girls in 2009.

The evening began with a super meal followed by an address from Roy Case. Over 30 trophies and certificates were presented to girls from the Junior squad, the Birdie and Mini-Birdie groupsRoy with Captain Emma & Vice-captain Emily

I was astounded at how many trophies the girls had won in County, inter-county and club competitions, and I hope I did you all justice as Roy presented the awards. Well done to you all, I was very proud to be able to read out all of your achievements and to share in your successes

A big thank you to Sherwood for hosting the evening and to Roy for presenting the awards. Lets hope that 2010 is as successful!
