Match
Vs Derbyshire
Derbyshire Ladies’ County
Golf Association invited Nottinghamshire County Ladies’ Golf Association to
play a County Match at Chesterfield Golf Club on 12 August to commemorate the
first County Match they ever played 100 years ago.
Due to heavy rain the course was closed and the match was rearranged at
Kedleston Park Golf Club on 2 October.
It was a memorable and
enjoyable occasion for the past and present officials, past champions and county
players - all generations were represented.
The weather was cold and sunny but interlaced with a couple of short
sharp hail storms which caught out those at the back of the field.
After the match a celebratory dinner was served and the President of
DLCGA welcomed and proposed a toast to Nottinghamshire Ladies.
County Captain Marian Harris thanked and proposed a toast to Derbyshire
Ladies. All the players were given
2 ball markers - one from each County. Maggie
Wylde (DLCGA) and Maureen Clarke (NCLGA) were thanked for organising the event.
Nottinghamshire repeated their win of a100 years ago.
